The imposing neoclassical Art Institute of Chicago is one of the best art museums in the world, and contains some of the most famous paintings of all time. In particular, the Museum has a world-renowned collection of modern art - featuring French Impressionist and American art - as well as a significant number of works by European Old Masters.
